Automotive Engine Aluminum Casting

Automotive Engine Aluminum Casting Introduction:

Automotive engine aluminum castings are mainly used in key parts such as engine cylinder block, cylinder head, piston, intake manifold, rocker arm, engine suspension bracket, air compressor connecting rod, transmission housing, clutch housing, etc. These aluminum castings play an important role in automobile engines with their excellent performance.

With the continuous development of the automotive industry, the performance and quality requirements for automobile engine aluminum castings are getting higher and higher. In the future, automotive engine aluminum castings will develop in the direction of lightweight, high precision, high corrosion resistance, high wear resistance, etc. At the same time, with the continuous improvement and innovation of casting technology, such as the application of new processes such as casting forging, low-pressure aluminum casting, and semi-solid forming, the performance and quality of automobile engine aluminum die castings will be further improved.

The casting processes of automotive engine aluminum die castings mainly include pressure casting, gravity casting and extrusion casting.

Casting Technology of Automobile Engine Aluminum Castings:

● Pressure casting (die casting): Under pressure, the molten aluminum alloy is pressed into the casting cavity of the mold to form a casting. Pressure casting can be further divided into vacuum casting, centrifugal casting, low-pressure casting, pressure casting, etc.
● Gravity casting: The molten aluminum alloy flows into the casting cavity of the mold by its own gravity to form a casting. Gravity casting can be divided into sand casting and hard mold casting (metal mold casting). Sand casting is suitable for mass production because of its low mold material price and simple process; while hard mold casting uses metal molds, which can be used repeatedly and produce castings with higher precision.
● Squeeze casting (liquid die forging): The molten aluminum alloy is poured into an open mold, and then the mold is sealed and high pressure is applied to make the liquid aluminum alloy flow, fill and solidify into a casting in the mold.

Automobile engine aluminum castings are important and indispensable parts in automobile engines. They play an important role in the automotive industry with their excellent performance. With the continuous development of the automotive industry and the continuous advancement of technology, the performance and quality of automobile engine aluminum castings will be further improved and perfected.
